CHEATING telly presenter Phillip Schofield is "unlikely to land a job" in a predicted move to America, according to TV experts.
He was ousted from ITV after cheating on his wife with a young male member of staff during his stint working on This Morning.
At the time, Schofield famously said his relationship was "unwise, but not illegal" before stepping down from the showbiz industry.
Now, after the dust appears to have settled for the ex-children's TV presenter, experts tell SundayStar.co.uk that he's likely heading to the US.
In an exclusive interview with The Sunday Star, North Carolina-based crisis publicist Mitchell Jackson says Schofield may attempt to "reinvent himself".
He admitted: "Regarding the scandal, he's toast in the UK. The Brits are way less forgiving than the Americans. His audience is mums, who are less tolerant of these accusations.
"Although he may try to travel to the US and reinvent himself, he's unlikely to get a job here, because the news TV market is in so much trouble."
Mitchell, of BCC Communications, added: "A-listers can't even keep their jobs in this economy in the states, so why would he land a job?
"So many British celebrities fail in the states, just ask the Beckhams, and there's nothing that says he would succeed. His best bet is starting a podcast and building his own audience.
"If he can generate news via a podcast, he may be able to have a second career.
"After all, nothing is better for launching a new product quite like scandal. Or he should just retire to Palm Springs or Fire Island and enjoy his gay golden years!"
After his scandal was exposed, Phillip said in a statement: "The first thing I want to say is: I am deeply sorry…
"I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning.
"Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.
"That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over. "
