A YOUNG boy has died after being struck by a bus in a horrifying crash which also sent a nine-year-old girl to the hospital with "serious" injuries.
Emergency services raced to the sick scene on Calder Street, Govanhill, Glasgow at around 5.40pm yesterday evening (Wednesday, April 5).
The young lad was treated at the scene after being hit by the single-decker bus, but was tragically pronounced dead by the heroic responders.
Paramedics rushed the young girl to the Royal Hospital for Children where she remains in a "serious but stable" condition after the freak crash.
Officers were forced to close the road and reopened it just before midnight, police are now looking for people to come forward with information.
Sgt Nicolas Twigg told SundayStar.co.uk: "Our thoughts are with the family of the boy who died and they have asked for privacy at what is a very difficult time for them.
"Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what has happened and we are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash and saw what happened to get in touch.
"In addition, if you have a dash-cam that could help with our crash investigation then please contact us."
"Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2648 of Tuesday, 4 April, 2023."
