Theatre chaos as riot police shut down The Bodyguard over 'audience singing'

Riot police raided Friday's performance at Palace Theatre in Manchester after members of the audience "sang over cast"

POLICE descended on a performance of The Bodyguard at Palace Theatre in Manchester to deal with "audience singing".  

Eye-witnesses say fights broke out mid-production as "loud" attendees attempted to join in with the star-studded cast.

Fronted by ex-Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, pictures and videos show riot cops shutting down the show earlier last night.

The Bodyguard has since been cancelled and disgruntled members of the audience have flocked to social media to air their grievances.

One wrote: "I’m new to the world of theatre. But sad and disappointed tonight at the state of some people's arrogance and disrespect while at a show.

"A mini riot after the show was stopped because audience members were trying to sing over the cast. Police riot vans been called in. Chaos."

While a third penned: "Went to The Palace Theatre in Manchester to watch The Bodyguard and a bunch of entitled p*****s starting singing over the lead during the final song.  

"A riot broke out, the show was cancelled and the police were called. fighting definitely broke out. Hence the 3 police cars and the show being cancelled."
