Poundland has closed a Birmingham store in a surprise move – despite it not featuring on the retailer's official closure list.
The Selly Oak branch at Battery Retail Park has now shut for good, catching shoppers off guard.

It was not included in the previously announced list of 48 closures, which named Kings Heath and Sheldon branches for 24 August, and Erdington for 31 August.
In total, 68 stores will close by mid-October as part of Poundland's restructuring plan.
The discount chain currently runs about 800 shops across the UK, but plans to reduce that number to between 650 and 700.
The cutbacks follow the £1 sale of Poundland by its Polish parent company, Pepco Group, to US investment firm Gordon Brothers.
Pepco had owned the retailer since 2016 but put it up for auction in March after a slump in trading.

The restructuring includes an £80m cash injection, nationwide store closures and the shutdown of key distribution centres in South Yorkshire and the West Midlands.
Online sales will also be scrapped as the chain shifts focus to womenswear and seasonal products.
Ahead of the closures, Poundland has launched a clearance event, with discounts of up to 75 per cent.
Stores that closed on 17 August included Bedford, Broxburn, Falmouth, Poole, Stafford and Worcester.
A further 12 – including Brigg, Coventry, Peterborough, Rainham and Whitechapel – shut on 24 August.
