PHILLIP SCHOFIELD reportedly "took younger guys under his wing" after coming out as gay live on ITV's This Morning.
The telly star, 61, is thought to have "supported a young runner" who was "struggling with his sexuality" a few years ago.
He announced his sexuality alongside former co-star Holly Willoughby back in 2020, when sources claimed Phil's sexuality secret was "open".
It was three years ago that insiders also revealed that "very caring" Phil would "socialise with other gay men" at ITV.
"Lots of people who work at This Morning have known Phillip is gay for a few years," a source told the Daily Star in 2020.
"It was an open secret among the team but none of them would have ever said anything about it publicly.
"Phillip is a very caring guy. Over the years he has supported others who are gay and made sure they feel comfortable to be themselves.
"There was one runner who was struggling to deal with his sexuality and Phillip was quick to offer support and become a mentor for him."
