A WOMAN stung by an Asian hornet says the pain was "one of the worst things" she's experienced in her entire life.

Louise Austin was attacked by the big foot-sized bug last summer and was left suffering for almost three weeks afterwards.

Detailing the ordeal, she told SundayStar.co.uk: "I was stung by an Asian hornet whilst I was in the garden with my dogs.

Revealing the painful aftermath, she added: "I couldn't drive for a few days as I wasn't able to hold the steering wheel due to the excruciating pain.

"As I was feeling so unwell, I visited my local doctor, and I was prescribed antibiotics for a week."

Experts tell SundayStar.co.uk that the pesky hornets are on their way back to Britain to cause more chaos – offering advice for their return.

Jay Riggs of Zeal CBD said: "Its sting can be described as a feeling similar to being stabbed by a red-hot needle.

"Where the needle punctures the skin, it can swell severely and ache for a few days.

"Asian hornets are likely to sting when they feel threatened, and a single Asian hornet can sting once or multiple times.

"If you are near a nest, or unsure of the species, it's best to avoid going anywhere near as sometimes hornets swarm, resulting in multiple stings all at once.

"To be sure, it's always best to call an expert to remove a nest if you see one."
